Mickey Kush is a new flavor from TGA that has really wowed us at the TGA offices. Mickey’s origination comes from the Pacific Northwest, a small group of growers that have had her in their stable for a while until one day they came across Subcool genetics and met with Dioxide who is behind many great creations in the TGA fleet.

How it All Started

They had a few meetings and a few “safety meetings” then decided to mix their genetics with ours. What came to be was an award-winning strain with tons of flavor and a hefty punch to boot. This started a couple years ago with master grower Odie taking his sweet Irish Kush plant and mixing it with our sugarcoated Jack the Ripper male. Now, sweet Irish Kush is no joke as it was testing at 28.6 % THC in lab tests, so it was a no-brainer to mix it with her Jack the Ripper to give her little bit more kick.

Back at the beginning of spring, when I started five beans along with Nurse Jackie and Plushberry, the Mickey Kush beans germinated within three days while it took 5 to 7 for the other beans to germinate. All the plants grew happy and healthy as I waited for 45 days to find the sex of my plants. After discarding the males from the females, I top them once at 45 days to reduce their height and make them bush out more. As with all my plants I take them from a basic plastic drinking cup of soil (like the plastic red and blue cups you would find at any local keg party) and I grow the seedling in them, then move them to a 1 gallon container after a week or so of growth.

All three females were forced into flower outside, in my yard, by allowing them to get sun from 6 AM to 6 PM. At 6PM I would place them inside a shed until after dusk and repeat daily until they were finish flowering. Each of the girls had different characteristics: Mickey Kush number five had kind of a black licorice/dark berry flavor to her while the other two gals, Mickey number one and Mickey number three, carried a lemon scent from Jack the Ripper father. All the colas were massive, huge and rock hard with the Mickey Kush number five being the most resinous of the group (this seem to be triple coated in resin and you couldn’t tell where one trichrome ended and the other one began) and she seemed to have the heaviest yield of the group.
